Stirling Albion gaffer Stuart McLaren praised his players' spirit after they came from behind to beat Arbroath at Forthbank.

The Binos fell behind to a Bobby Linn goal but battled back to claim all three points despite goalkeeper Chris Smith's red card.

McLaren told Stirling News Sport: “It was an outstanding game. We said to the players that a victory in those circumstances is a marker of the team spirit and belief. In the first half we had two shots cleared off the line and there were some really good situations where we opened them up. We always felt we were capable of going on to win the game.”

Albion are now unbeaten in seven games and the manager pointed out the importance of consistency in a league where just 13 points separate top from bottom.

McLaren said: “We can only focus on the next game but from the last 11 we have won six, drawn three and only lost two so it is good form. Anyone can beat anyone but if you can put together a run then you give yourself a chance. If we keep going the way we are then we will be up near the right end of the table.”

The former Binos star paid tribute to the fans who turned out in big numbers and hopes they will have more to shout about come the end of the season.

“The players and the staff all want to work together, and if we can get the supporters behind the team then we will have a better chance of giving them more afternoons like Saturday. Hopefully we can continue on our upward trend and give the supporters something to cheer about.”
