RANGERS have been handed a Europa League boost ahead of their tie with Galatasaray, after it emerged that two of the Turkish side's key men look set to miss the clash.
Younes Belhanda is reportedly on the verge of securing a move to French club Nice, meaning he is unlikely to turn out ahead at Ibrox on Thursday.
And former Barcelona man Arda Turan will also miss the clash, due to illness. He has displayed flu-like symptoms but has tested negative for Covid-19.
According to Spor, Belhanda may have played his last game for Galatasaray. He scored against Hajduk Split in the previous qualifying round. The Morrocan began his career in France, and spent time on loan at Nice in 2016/2017.
While Galatasaray revealed in an official statement that Turan would miss the match.
Rangers are also without key men ahead of the match. Kemar Roofe, Joe Aribo and Ryan Jack are all out for Steven Gerrard's side.
Cedric Itten is also a major doubt for the clash after he scored his first Rangers goals at the weekend.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
