A YOUNG man has been found outside a social club with a serious head injury.
The 21-year-old was discovered outside The Glencairn, in Rutherglen, on Saturday, December 29 at around 5.45pm.
Police rushed to the scene of the serious assault after officers received a call.
The Scottish Ambulance service also attended and the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for a head injury. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
Extensive enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and police now want to trace the people responsible for the attack.
It is believed the suspects ran off in the direction of the town’s Main Street after the assault.
