ACTIVE Stirling celebrated with two young local volunteers who have been giving their time to the community.

All together, Duncan Watson and Jan Finlay have volunteered more than 300 hours with Active Stirling, working alongside coaches at The Active Kids Summer programme and within afterschool programmes where they have been coaching their chosen sports.

The incredible effort from the young people allows them to gain a fantastic experience in delivering a variety of sports.

Active Stirling works closely with Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) and allows them to nominate young people for the Saltire Awards, which helps to give the recognition for all their hard work.

Natalie Masterson, chief officer at Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise, added: “Saltire is a fantastic scheme, supported by the Scottish Government, which is designed to recognise and reward the commitment and contribution of youth volunteering.

"We are so pleased to see more Active Stirling volunteers receive their award today for their incredible commitment to sporting activities in our local community.

"Working closely with our partners at Active Stirling, we hope to continue supporting and promoting youth volunteering, and celebrating the achievements of these young volunteers.”
