A STIRLING youngster took to the rink to compete at a national figure skating competition this month.

Brodie Sneddon, 12 of Stirling New Figure Skating Club, was up against 45 other participants in the British Figure Skating Championships in the Basic Novice A category.

She placed 11th overall with a personal best score of 31.07. The youngster is currently in the GBR Development Squad and has already secured continued membership for 2018.

Coach Gemma Chaddock said: “Brodie produced a beautiful and very mature skate at her first British Championships.

“She has trained very hard for this competition and deserved the great result. I'm very proud of her.”
