A STIRLING teenager who raped a 12-year-old girl after giving her alcohol during a drinking game has been locked up.

Dylan Walker carried out the vicious and sick assault at a Stirling address in 2016.

The 19-year-old was also convicted Walker of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl on various occasions in Stirling in the summer of 2014.

During the trial, both victims reported to the police what Walker had done to them.

He claimed that the 13-year-old was lying and made no comment when questioned by police about the rape.

The 12-year-old girl told prosecutors that Walker played a card game with her and whoever lost had to down an alcoholic drink.

Walker did not give evidence in court, but denied both the charges against him.

He was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow last month and sentenced today at the High Court in Livingston.

Walker was told to serve four years in detention and will be supervised for a further two years following his release.

Judge Lord Arthurson told the accused: "You have been found guilty of concerning offending against small children.

"The risk represented by you of further sexual offending against adult and adolescent females is high.

"I have concluded that you present a high risk of causing serious harm and detention is necessary to protect the public."

Speaking after the sentence was confirmed, a spokesperson for NSPCC Scotland said: “There is something particularly shocking about a child being sexually abused by another young person.

“Survivors of sexual abuse need to know they will be listened to and supported when they talk to the authorities and we hope this case will give others the confidence to speak out and seek justice.

“NSPCC Scotland works in schools and in the community to prevent abuse and anyone worried about a child can contact our Helpline to report concerns.”
