AN ANNUAL fundraiser drawing in 300 women from Forth Valley and North Lanarkshire has raised an incredible £37,608 for Stathcarron Hospice.

The Hospice Ladies Lunch event, held every year, went ahead last week and allowed the mass gathering of women to enjoy a two-course lunch.

Afterwards, attendees got to enjoy an evening of dancing and entertainment at the Double Tree Westerwood Hotel.

The lunch was hosted by Alan and Shaz from Central FM with broadcaster and singer Michelle McManus providing entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Jackie Johnston, fundraising manager with Strathcarron Hospice, was blown away by the support shown during the lunch.

She said: “We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone for supporting this event which was a brilliant afternoon of fun, music, food and laughter.

“This Ladies Lunch has been our most successful yet with a record amount raised at the event – a testament to the generosity and kindness of our supporters.

“The Hospice has to raise £16,637 daily to provide the specialist end of life care and services to individuals and their families across our communities.

“By taking part in events like these, you are a key part in helping patients and families in need.”

The Hospice also paid thanks to a long list of businesses who contributed to the success of the event.

These included Central FM, McMaster Jewellers, Caitlin McFarlane Photography, Lights Candy Action, SC Luxe Events, Scent 26, The Glenmorangie Distillery, Mrs Tillys, Scottish Fine Soaps, Irene’s Florist and D&M Loney.
