A TRUST in the Forth Valley area has announced a new secretary to their Board of Trustees.
Dr Tom Christie, a founding director of Stirling book publisher Extremis Publishing Ltd, will be joining the team at Forthgiving.
Tom will be succeeding Nick Cooke, who has been an integral part of Forthgiving for two decades, holding the position as secretary for over 15 years.
“I consider it an honour to be appointed the new board secretary of Forthgiving,” Tom said. “It will be impossible to truly replace Nick.
“I can only succeed him in a role that he has made his own over the past twenty years and will strive to continue the good work he has done in supporting the organisation’s Board of Trustees in providing practical help throughout the communities of Forth Valley.”
Forthgiving distributes grants to individuals and organisations upon application, aiming to help people facing financial crisis.
The trust also delivers block grants to charities to aid them in their work with a focus on poverty relief.
Ellen Dickie, chair of the organisation, added: “Everyone at Forthgiving would like to thank Nick for everything he has done over the past two decades.
“He has always worked tirelessly in the pursuit of the society’s aims.
“Forthgiving is keen to expand its membership, and would be interested to hear from any individuals throughout the Forth Valley area who would like to know more about how they can support its charitable work.”
