PEOPLE are being urged to lace up and raise funds for a cancer support centre in the Forth Valley next month.

Maggie's Forth Valley is hosting its Meander to Maggie's fundraising event on Friday, May 27, with a 10km walk starting at the iconic Kelpies.

The event is free to register and those attending will be asked to aim to raise £150 in sponsorship for the cancer support centre.

The walk will take participants from the Kelpies to Maggie's, based on the grounds of Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

At the centre, there will be an after party with a BBQ, drinks and a DJ to entertain people into the evening.

Cristina Pouso, centre fundraising manager, said: “We are so delighted that Meander to Maggie’s is back this year after such a fantastic time had by all in 2021.

“It’s a magnificent meander from the Kelpies all the way to our centre.

“And the outdoor BBQ and party at the centre is quite simply the cherry on top to an already amazing event.”

On the day, people will be asked to arrive to the Kelpies for 4.30pm.

Michelle Gallagher from The Engine Room will be on hand for a 10-minute warm up and the meander will start at 5pm with people put into groups with their own walk leader.
