HADDINGTON Athletic kept their cool from the penalty spot to ensure four East Lothian teams will play in the second round of the Scottish Cup.

The Hi Hi and Deveronvale could not be separated last weekend and the scores finished 1-1 at Millfield earlier this afternoon (Saturday).

However, the hosts were flawless from the penalty spot as they won 5-3.

Ross King, Gabri Auriemma, Shaun Hill and Seamus Russell all found the net before Euan Watson scored the decisive kick.

Goalkeeper Dale Cornet had earlier saved a spot kick in the shootout.

Haddington will now face Brechin City, with the second round contests played next month.

The victory means Haddington join Dunbar United, who face Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale, Tranent Juniors, who travel to Broomhill and Preston Athletic, who face Auchinleck Talbot.

Elsewhere today, Tranent Juniors won 4-0 against Camelon in the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division.

In the same league, Dunbar United won 3-1 at home to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts but Musselburgh Athletic went down 2-1 to Tynecastle.

Meanwhile, Ormiston lost 8-0 away to Dunipace in First Division Conference A but Preston Athletic put on a five-star show to win 5-0 at Lochgelly Albert to keep up their challenge for the First Division Conference B title.
