CONSTANT FOLLOWER will release their anticipated debut album, with each song accompanied by its own short film.

The ten-track LP – Neither is, Nor Ever Was – will be unveiled in early October with singles, in the form of The Merry Dancers on TV and Weave of the World already out in the world.

The album also features previous singles I Can't Wake You and Set Aside Some Time, which was nominated for The Weekender's Song of the Year in 2020.

A project born from despair, Constant Follower has been a stand-out artist in Scotland since the band started releasing music a few years ago.

Spearheaded by songwriter Stephen McAll, the songs can trace their origins to a serious attack the singer suffered in his teens back in Glasgow.

He was left with catastrophic head injuries and without all memories of his childhood.

The long road to recovery was transformative as he pieced together his memories and his desire to create.

He spent time in a cabin in the West Coast of Scotland, with the seclusion helping to bring him back and return to songwriting.

His efforts were recorded as raw demos which were recorded over the last year or so in Stirling, where he now lives.

The result is a delicate and powerful album, crafted by a pain that would have crushed many and moulded by inspirational resolve.

Neither is, Nor Ever Was also comes with a series of films to accompany each track.

McAll sought-out the most exciting new talents in Scottish film and animation and invited them to be part of the album project.

Each video, the artist's personal response to the song, created with no direction or interference from the band, resulting in incredibly moving and enchanting short films in their own right.

Indeed, some attracted multiple film festival considerations including Edinburgh International Film Festival and Manchester Film Festival in process.

Neither is, nor ever will be released on Friday, October 1, with pre-orders available now at

Constant Follower will play The Glad Cafe in Glasgow on Thursday, September 30, to mark the release of the album. For tickets, visit
