STIRLING motorists are able to pay by mobile phone to sue on and off street council parking.

Having launched at the start of the week, the local authority has teamed up with cashless parking provider RingGo.

Those with smartphones can use the RingGo app to pay for parking while calls, texts or paying online are also options.

Councillor Danny Gibson, vice convener of the Environment and Housing Committee at the council, said: “It’s great news that motorists across Stirling will now have a cashless booking system for parking from the start of next week alongside the current cash payment option.

“Using the RingGo app will save time, remove the need to bring appropriate change in cash and provide greater flexibility when visiting our town centres as you can extend your stay with the touch of a button.”

Wellgreen Car Park in Stirling city centre is not part of the initial RingGo roll out.
