KYLE FALCONER will play an intimate record store set in Stirling this month in support of his new album release.

The View frontman unveils No Love Songs For Laura on Friday, July 30, and will appear at a handful of record shops over that weekend, including Europa Music.

He will be at the Friars Street store on Saturday, July 31, from 11am to perform a short acoustic set.

The stop is part of a mini record store tour which includes visits to Inverness, Aberdeen, Saltcoats, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.

Ewen Duncan, owner of Europa, which previously had a store in Alloa years ago, is hoping Falconer's return to the store will create as much a buzz as before.

He said: "We're looking forward to it; he's played the shop before and it was such a good afternoon then. There was some amount of folk coming in to buy albums and get it signed.

"And it will be great to see Kyle again - the last time he was here he was just so lovely.

"Hopefully, the weather stays with us, but I've got a wee pop-up tent in any case."

Ewan added: "It would be great to see folk come out again. We've got very knowledgeable and helpful staff and we are the largest browseable record store in Scotland.

"It's been a difficult year for us, but we're glad to see so many people coming in still. People come from all over - a lot of folk, who are travelling north, for instance, even make a detour to come in.

No Love Songs For Laura is a 13-track album of "emotional highs and occasional confessional lows "which reflects upon both his home life, with his wife Laura and two children, and the journey he has undertaken to arrive where he is today.

He previously teased the release with singles in the form of Wait Around and Stress Ball.

Falconer will follow up the release with a four-date September tour in Scotland, appearing at Church, Dundee (13th); Oran Mor, Glasgow (14th); The Caves, Edinburgh (15th) and Tunnels, Aberdeen (16th).

Album and ticket bundles for the tour, in association with Assai Records, are available online now. After each set, there will be a Q&A session with his new manager, the legendary Creation Records founder Alan McGee.
