A woman has been sentenced after obtaining almost £6,000 through a benefits fraud.
Lynn Currie, 50, of Cliekimin Crescent, Ballingry, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She admitted that between May 22, 2017, and June 9, 2019, she knowingly failed to give prompt notification to the Department of Work and Pensions of a change in circumstances, that she was in full-time employment, which affected her entitlement to a Carers Allowance and obtained £5,933 to which she was not entitled.
Depute fiscal Mat Piskorz said Currie had been working full-time at a care home when receiving the allowance for looking after a family member.
She had claimed she was not working more than 16 hours a week when she was on a 40.5 hours contract, he added.
Sheriff Charles Macnair imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work.
