A FORMER prisoner at HMP Glenochil caught with a mobile phone while serving his sentence will be monitored for good behaviour.
Connor Graham, now of McCormack Place, Larbert, appearing in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court.
The 24-year-old admitted that on June 19, 2019, while inside HMP Glenochil, he was in possession of a mobile phone.
Defence agent Lynn Swan said: "He was coming to the end of a sentence and was asked to take this phone for someone.
"He is not saying any specific threat was made, but he knew that if he didn't do it, his life would have been made difficult for the rest of his sentence."
She said her client was now in work and in a relationship with his girlfriend who was pregnant.
The solicitor added that he was punished in prison at the time with three days of solitary confinement.
Sheriff Craig McSherry said that he would defer sentence on Graham until August 5 for him to be of good behaviour.
At the start of the pandemic, the Scottish Prison Service allowed prisoners to keep mobile phones to maintain relationships with families, while minimising social contact.
