THEY'VE given escorts to the famous and do their bit to keep Glasgow's speeding drivers in check. 

However, today cops were on their guard for a rare reason when they guided the UK's largest wind turbine blade through the city. 

 

Officers from Glasgow escorted the 65 metre long part from the King George V Dock, on the River Clyde, to Crossdyke Windfarm, in Lockerbie.

The 75 mile journey down the M74 took place this morning and came less than 24 hours after Glaswegians were wowed by the sight of the 'Harry Potter' train.
