A FORTH VALLEY shopping centre is offering its youngest visitors the chance to have fun as they learn how to be kinder to the planet.

Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling will be using its Wolf Pack kids’ club to teach kids about the planet following its recent return in an all-new digital format.

Each month until November, little ones can take part in eco-themed activities by collecting a free ‘make and take’ box from the information desk at the shopping centre, which contains everything needed to let their creativity run wild.

Families can then log onto Thistles’ website to watch a video featuring a heroic, planet-saving ‘Sustainable Super’ who will guide Wolf Pack Pups through a task.

Over the last couple of weeks, crafting kiddies have been decorating their own reusable drinks bottles using stickers and markers - which all come in the box - while refreshing their knowledge on sustainable practices.

From Friday, September 17, ‘Save our Seas’ will offer another opportunity for learning and fun.

Gary Turnbull, centre director at Thistles, said of the new kids’ club setup: “Wolf Pack is a hugely popular offering at Thistles, with both parents and children but we couldn’t hold the events in the usual way due to social distancing restrictions.

“However, we are so pleased that we have been able to bring the experience back in an equally fantastic way.

“It’s lovely that we can still welcome our regular and new attendees when they come to collect their craft goodies and be part of the excitement and anticipation of discovering what’s inside the box.

“It has been very well received and we’d love to see what the children have made, so please do share your photos with us on our Facebook page.”

Local mum, Suzy Campbell, and her daughters worked with Thistles on guiding families through the journey of the activities.

She said: “My girls always love attending the Wolfpack activities when we are out shopping and it was nice to be able still take part in them, even if it was back at home.

“We ended up with some creative water bottle designs, learnt about sustainability and it kept them busy whilst I enjoyed a hot cuppa - win win! We’ll definitely be picking up another ‘make and take’ box soon.”
