THE Ochil Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) carried out a successful rescue operation in the Wee County over the weekend.

The volunteer force was called upon to help a woman who was injured while on Dumyat.

A team was quickly sent to the hill where it located the woman, assessed her, and removed her into the care of the ambulance service.

Ross MacIntyre, OMRT secretary, told the Advertiser: "We were contacted by Police Scotland late on Saturday morning to attend the Blairlogie area following an ambulance call for a patient who had suffered a medical issue on Dumyat.

"A hasty team led by an OMRT doctor and including Special Operations and Response Team (SORT) paramedics made their way towards the location, the rest of the team then relocated to Sheriffmuir to take the stretcher in along the main path.

"The patient was stable on arrival and after checks was able to walk down slowly while being supported by two team members.

"They were then handed over to the ambulance service."

Ross placed on record his thanks to the other emergency services and reminded people to call 999 if they are in trouble and ask for police then mountain rescue.
