THERE were no deaths linked to coronavirus in Clackmannanshire in the second week of July.

Latest data from National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows zero fatalities recorded locally in the week beginning July 6.

The data was published at 12noon on Wednesday, July 15, and covers the period from December 30, 2019, to Sunday, July 12, 2020.

The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in the Wee County remains at 48.

Of those 48 deaths, 35 occurred in care homes, 12 in hospital, and one at a home or other non-institutional setting.

Turning to the area’s health board, NRS stats show there have been 237 deaths linked to coronavirus recorded by NHS Forth Valley.

And in Scotland overall, 4,187 deaths have been attributed to the virus.

Of those deaths, more than three quarters (77 per cent) involved people aged 75 or over.

And 47 per cent of them occurred in care homes, 46 per cent in hospitals, and seven per cent at a home or other non-institutional setting.
