A POLICE investigation has been launched after a serious assault in Forth Valley left a man in hospital with a broken jaw.

The incident took place in Grangemouth on Wednesday, March 25, when a group of young people targeted a man walking through a park.

Detective Constable Gavin Grant from Falkirk Police Station said: "Between 8pm and 8.30pm, the 29 year-old man was walking through Zetland Park in Grangemouth when he was approached by a group of youths.

"One of the male youths then seriously assaulted him which resulted in him receiving hospital treatment for a broken jaw.

"This youth responsible is described as 16 to 17 years of age, and of slim build with an earring in each ear.

“There were around five males and four females in the group that approached the man in the park and we are now working to identify them and trace the man responsible for the serious assault.

"I would ask any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact Falkirk Police Station.”
