A FORTH Valley radio station celebrated its move to a new studio last month.

Stirling City Radio’s expansion of a second studio was officially opened on Saturday, February 29 by station manager James Russell and a host of local musicians from the community.

The radio station is looking to expand its activities in the new studio by offering podcast production and increase the number of people involved in running the charity, Stirling Community Media, which operates the radio station.

Future plans include applying for a DAB license so anyone in the local area with a digital radio capacity can tune into the station.

James said: “This is for the community, anyone who wants to stop by and record a podcast is more than welcome.”

Stirling Council leader Cllr Scott Farmer and his wife Rhona popped in to share in the celebrations and the highlight of the day was the official cutting of the ribbon by two-year-old Carmen Wilson who visited with her mother Lynsey.

Led by the DanceSing choir and a number of artists such as Robbie Hutton, Matthew Gibb, Steve Kemp and Marcus Basi, friends, family and listeners of the local radio sensation were entertained.

James and the team are currently looking for new volunteers.
