A RETAILER which decided to donate surplus food is looking for a partnering community organisation in Stirling.

M&S recently announced all its Scottish stores would give away surplus food to a local cause, but is still looking for a partner in town.

Groups are being encouraged to get in touch with organisation Neighbourly, which looks to connect businesses with communities.

Steve Butterworth, CEO at Neighbourly, said: “We've recently celebrated four years of our partnership with M&S and, in that time, we've helped to get over 770,000 meals to those in need across Scotland alone, through the efforts of the local store teams.

“At a time when a fifth of the population lives in poverty, it's never been more pressing to ensure that no good food goes to waste and we're proud to see the impact that this programme is having in local communities."

Community causes can email mandsfood@neighbourly.com to find out more about getting involved.
