A CHARITY has handed over a huge cheque to an organisation which helps the elderly.

Opening More Doors has gifted £1,500 to Crossroads Caring Scotland to help with their work in Clackmannanshire.

The charity, based on Mar Street, works all across the Forth Valley region providing personal care and numerous other services.

Mary, one of the Crossroads team, said that the money will be used mainly to help elderly, isolated people to get help with shopping and have some social outings.

Maggie Todd from Opening More Doors handed over the cheque.

She and her granddaughter Katheryn also raised £1,300 for Alzheimer Scotland doing a zip slide across the Clyde recently.

Maggie thanked all her family and friends including those from Opening More Doors who helped to raise this fantastic sum.
