A STIRLING care home enjoyed a visit from the local MP during an open day, part of a nationwide initiative.
MP Stephen Kerr was at Forthbank Care Home for the event, which was organised in a bid to create links between the residents and the wider community.
There were tea and cakes, plenty of blether as well as an art contest judged by Stirling and Falkirk Lord-Lieutenant Alan Simpson.
The MP, with Mr Simpson and Councillor Douglas Dodds also cut the ribbon on the home to celebrate its recent refurbishment.
Mr Kerr said: “It was wonderful to meet everyone at the Forthbank Care Home and see for myself the results of the recent refurbishment and what is still planned.
“Care Home Open Day is a wonderful idea that makes you think differently about care homes and their role in society, and I encourage people to take part in next year’s event.
“The team at Forthbank deserve a lot of credit, as do carers across the country for the vital service they provide.”
