AN EXCITING project to propose walking and cycling routes around the River Forth has been praised by Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford.
Mr Crawford attended a consultation event yesterday (Monday 24th), and was given an insight into several proposed routes, including Stirling, Falkirk, Bo’ness and Dunfermline.
There is also a 78-mile circuit that incorporates parts of each of the routes.
This project, called Wanderings and Windings, has a value of £67,000 – which includes £47,000 of National Lottery funding.
Commenting, Mr Crawford said: “This is an exciting project, and I look forward to the next stage of its development.
“Walking and cycling routes are becoming more and more popular – not just with locals, but with visitors to our area too.
“This is the type of healthy recreational activity that I want to see take off – it could be great for business in the area and help to promote healthy living.
“I wish the development team all the best, and am ready to help in any way I can to support this project.”
