A POLICE dog helped locate a member of the public who had gone missing at the weekend.

Officers were called in following a report of a “high risk missing person” around the Coalsnaughton area on Saturday, May 4.

PD Indie was deployed to support Wee County police and helped resolve the scenario in the space of just half an hour or so.

After the canine unit located the missing lady in a wooded area, police were able to arrange medical care.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Advertiser the call came in at around 7.45pm.

However, she added that the woman was traced at around 8.15pm.
