TICKETS are on sale for the World Wheelchair Curling Championships, due to be hosted in Stirling next month.

The best of the best from around the globe will be competing at The PEAK between March 3 and 10.

Events are being backed by funding from Stirling Council, UK Sport, EventScotland and the World Curling Federation with more than 10 nations set to be represented.

Delegates from the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics organising committee will also be observing to learn best practice.

Councillor Chris Kane, convener of the Community Planning and Regeneration Committee, said: “The top class events just keep coming for Stirling, and this one really ranks up there with the best of them.

“This city is writing its own history now as we build on events like the Stirling Marathon and Great XCountry Run, and I’m very proud for us to help host such a prestigious sporting spectacle.

“These championships will bring a boost to Stirling’s reputation as an events location and I’d encourage everyone who is coming to Stirling for the competition to take time to sample the unique sights and settings we have to offer.”
