A MAN sadly lost his life in a collision around the Dunipace area while another was rushed to hospital with serious injuries this week.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Yamaha XVS motorbike was involved in a collision with a Saab 9-3 in Stirling Street at around 6.05pm on Monday, January 21.

The motorbike was travelling north while the car was turning out of Ingleston Avenue when the crash took place, according to the Forth Valley division.

The 58-year-old rider of the motorbike was sadly pronounced dead at the scene while his 21-year-old male pillion passenger was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with serious injuries.

Officers closed the road in both directions while investigations took place and are now appealing for information.

Inspector Andrew Thomson, of the Road Policing unit in the Forth Valley, said: “Our sincere condolences are with the family of the man who lost his life, and an investigation into this collision remains underway.

"I want to thank the members of the public who came to the man's aid and offered their help to those involved and the emergency services.

"Anyone who may have witnessed this and has not yet spoken to officers, including those who may have dashcam footage of this or either of the vehicles travelling in the area, is urged to get in touch."
