THE Stirling Farmers' Market will be back on Port Street this Saturday for its first ever January event.

There will be plenty of stalls on offer, including fresh fish and shellfish from Arbroath, Highland Beef, Winston Churchill's game & venison and Puddledub's Pork & Bacon from Fife.

Fans of fresh breads will look forward to Riverside Bakery and Bakery Andante's return to Port Street after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Free range hens' and ducks' eggs are available alongside award-winning cheeses from Arran, Chilli Jams and sauces and not forgetting Honey Meads and Gins, all locally produced with passion.

Fi Roberts, of Stirling Farmers' Markets & Events, said: "Traditionally, a lot of our producers take advantage of a quieter January to have a holiday, but recently a lot of customers have asked us to run a market.

"Although it won't be as big a market as usual there will still be a great selection of Scottish food, drinks, crafts and banter.

"Stirling has a reputation for being a friendly market and it'd be great to see as many new faces as possible coming along to find out more about our stallholders and the fantastic products they have available."

The event runs from 10am till 4pm on Port Street, Stirling.
