MORE than 75 pupils from across Stirling took part in a basketball event this month.

The students from P4-7 tested their skills in the Basketball Cluster Club Competition, organised by Active Stirling on Friday, December 14.

The youngsters were all part of the Cluster Club programme which launched in March on a weekly basis.

Ruth Henderson, Active Stirling’s community activation officer, said: “It was amazing to have so many young people along on Friday night, showing off the skills they've been learning through the Cluster Basketball Programme.

“Active Stirling would like to thank all of the basketball coaches and supporting volunteers who deliver the programme week-to-week and who came along to support their teams on the night and assist with refereeing.

“Also thanks to the volunteers from Stirling Youth Team's Twilight Basketball programme who came along as table officials.

“Well done and thank you to all the participants and parents that came out on a Friday evening before Christmas and had a fantastic night of basketball!”

The clubs are set to resume in February 2019.
