STEVIE McCRORIE is set to debut brand new material when he takes to the stage in Alloa this spring.

The Alva singer will bring his band to the town hall, armed with some classic tunes and the promise of songs never performed live before.

Having sold out the venue in 2017, the 33-year-old is aiming to double up with another bumper show come March.

He told the Advertiser: "We're getting the full band back in; the choir, and double the amount of balloons as last time.

"I'm hoping it'll be another success – I have no idea if it will sell out this time, but fingers crossed."

It's been a season of change for Stevie as he and his wife welcomed the birth of their second child earlier this month.

Stevie was also back in the studio to record and release a cover of Kodaline's All I Want – the song he performed during his blind audition on The Voice back in 2015.

His version has maintained its popularity over the years, with the audition clip racking up more than 19million views, while a live acoustic cover version at Abbey Road in London boasts almost seven million.

"All I Want has been a long-time coming," he said. "I probably should have done it ages ago.

"A lot of people like to hear me sing that one, and I did think about recording it before the last EP. But I was focused on making sure I had my own material out there so I put it on the back burner.

"There are videos on YouTube that are watched all the time, so it was probably time we had a studio version that people could listen to on their playlists. That's the way it goes these days, and I still like giving fans what they want."

"It's gone down really well; coming in at around 4th or 5th on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts. I know it's cheesy, but it's just a little something to give back to fans.

"A lot of people have been really enthused about it, but I hope having a single on Spotify will bring more people in and let them hear my originals."

The recording process turned out to be a bit of a race against time as Stevie's second daughter Sunny was born the day after his studio booking.

He said: "We only had a day to go in and record the song and do the video, etc. After that I was completely burst, but the birth of Sunny kept me going."

Stevie added: "I'm still working on new material as I go and I'm definitely going to play some new stuff at Alloa Town Hall in March.

"I wrote something not too long ago and I think that'll be it. Sometimes you can hear a song you wrote and know it'll just be going in the bin – but not this one.

"It's all about inspiration; I was really inspired to write when Bibi was born so I know it'll be the same with Sunny.

"I wouldn't want to write and sing about something that doesn't mean anything to me. So there's plenty of ideas flowing now; it's all coming together."

All I Want is one cover sure to make the set list in the spring, but Stevie hinted a few more renditions when he takes to the stage.

He said: "I like to do a few covers for a big show, but I do them all in my own style.

"And for someone who is coming along to see me for the first time, and who maybe doesn't known my own stuff, a wee cover can help grab their attention."

Stevie and his band will play at Alloa Town Hall on Friday, March 15, from 7pm, with tickets available at ticketweb.uk

He also confirmed additional tour dates, including Saturday, June 1, at The Tunnels in Aberdeen, along with Friday, June 7, at Church Dundee, before heading to Bakers in Kilmarnock on Saturday, June 8.
