A STIRLING electrical firm has been recognised as one of Scotland’s top contractors.

Moray Robertson Electrical Services (MRES) was "highly commended" by trade body SELECT – Scotland’s association for the electrical contracting industry - in the Best Medium Contractor category at its annual awards ceremony.

The family firm is based in Stirling and was established by Moray and Cherene Robertson six years ago.

Senior engineers Paul Starkey and Mark Gordon represented MRES at a black-tie Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Glasgow.

The firm was invited to the glitzy event, hosted by popular radio and television personality Shereen Nanjiani, after being nominated for Best Visual Promotion as well as in the Medium Contractor category.

Managing Director Moray Robertson claimed he was honoured to be shortlisted for the two awards and delighted to be recognised with the Commendation.

He said: “Being Highly Commended for the Medium Contractor Award is a real honour for us and very much a reward for the whole team who go out and work hard every day.

“We pass on our congratulations to the worthy winners in all categories and our thanks to SELECT for recognising us.

“It was the first time we’ve been nominated for a business award and it demonstrates how our firm is going from strength to strength and delivering a quality service.”

The annual SELECT awards are open to electrical industry companies across Scotland.

Darrell Matthews, Managing Director of SELECT, said: “The entries for the awards this year were in tune with the new levels of excitement in the electrical industry which we feel is entering a transformational period backed by forward-thinking, innovative companies and individuals.”
