THE PEAK will welcome over 30 female curlers from Sweden and Scotland on Monday, October 29, as the Swedish Women’s Tour to Scotland 2018 visits Stirling.
The tour will start in Aberdeen on Friday, October 26, and the tourists will then visit Perth, Stirling, Ayr, Hamilton, Kelso, Edinburgh, finishing in Kinross on Sunday, November 4.
The tour first started in November 1973 when 17 Scottish women visited Stockholm with Margaret Walker as their Captain.
Since then, Scottish and Swedish women's teams have toured every five years, with Scottish teams returning to Sweden every year ending in a three, and Swedish ladies visiting Scotland every year ending with an eight.
This year will mark the 44th anniversary of the tour.
Suzanne Burns, programme and events manager for Active Stirling, said: “We look forward to welcoming the Swedish Women’s Tour to The PEAK.
“The visitors can expect a very warm Scottish welcome as they take to the ice here in Stirling.”
