YOUNG people representing their peers in the Wee County are set to launch their manifesto at an annual assembly with free pizza.

Alloa Town Hall is set to be buzzing for the Clackmannanshire Youth Council Annual General Meeting next Tuesday, October 16.

It will see the launch of the organisation’s Youth Manifesto while also serving as a celebration of young people in the area.

The event, which will be held between 1pm and 4pm on the day, is open to anyone living, working or volunteering in the Wee County between the ages of 12 and 25.

The manifesto comes after a year of working and an in-depth consultation with young people across the county.

It brought together groups from schools, youth organisations and communities to gather views and opinions from as many as possible.

The final aim was to produce a manifesto and it is hoped the document will help inform elected representatives and other groups for years to come.

It is hoped it will be the largest AGM to date with the aim of inspiring a new generation of youth councillors who will amplify younger voices across Clackmannanshire.

And the event will also be a celebration of the influence and achievements of locals as part of the Year of Young People 2018.

The free pizza should cater for a variety of dietary needs, but anyone with any special requirements, or with general questions about the event, can email clacksyouthcouncil@gmail.com for more details.
