STIRLING'S Wellgreen Nursery has been praised for its high standards after an annanounced visit from the Care Inspectorate (CI) earlier this year.

In a report following its July inspection, the CI said: “Children were very happy, confident and articulate, playing freely and excitedly with their friends and educators.

“There was a great sense of fun and laughter in the setting and it was clear that trusting, warm and nurturing relationships had been built between children, staff and families alike.

“Everyone in the service was encouraged to have high expectations of what children and families could achieve and this supported staff to challenge children’s thinking and foster their independence."

The CI regulates and inspects all care services in Scotland and rated Wellgreen Nursery as ‘Very Good’ for both its quality of care and support, and quality of staffing.

Irene McPherson, head of Wellgreen, said: “We are all absolutely thrilled with this report.

“At Wellgreen, we aim to create an exciting and inspiring learning environment which engages children, families, educators and the wider community.

"We will continue to strive towards this vision to ensure our children are motivated to learn and develop a lifelong passion for inquiry and discovery.”
