AN ALLOA gym being developed for autistic people has received a helping hand from a Stirling insulation manufacturer.

Superglass has donated £665 worth of insulation to be installed at N-Courage’s facilities, which will be used to help people with an autism spectrum disorder in innovative ways through activities like martial arts.

The two pallets of Superglass Multi Roll and Timer Roll will be installed in the ceiling and stud walls at the Ward Street specialist gym.

Andy Murray, sales director at Superglass, said: “We have always been proud to support local causes such as N-Courage, who set out to make a positive impact in the community and provide new, innovative ways to help others.

“With winter looming, it’s important to us to make sure those using the gym can enjoy themselves in a warm and safe environment.

“It’s great to have been able to help N-Courage create their new facility and look forward to seeing the positive difference it makes on the lives of young people with autism.”

John Miller, N-Courage director, added: “We’ve been very fortunate to have had such fantastic support a number of local contractors and suppliers including Superglass.

“We’re grateful for all their support and we’re looking forward to helping to empower even more young people who live with autism.

“The facility is progressing well and we now have all the walls, heating system, electrics and plumbing installed.

“Ventilation and ceiling installation will happen next week and then it’s on to painting and finishing.

“We aim to be finished mid-late October with our official opening early November.”

As reported in the Advertiser earlier, business partners Alison Morrison, of Tillicoultry, and John, of Menstrie, are hoping to offer opportunities for people who are not able to attend mainstream classes, particularly those with on the autism spectrum.

They aim to make people fitter and healthier, bit are also looking to accelerate the development of like-skills in general by mixing martial arts with Applied Behavioural Analysis, using techniques and principles around reinforcement.
