A WELL-KNOWN naturalists will be speaking in Stirling next month.

A lecturer of international repute, Sir John Lister-Kaye will be at the Logie Lecture Theatre at the University of Stirling on Wednesday, October 10, at 7.30pm.

Perhaps best known for setting up the Aigas Field Centre near Beauly, the first institution of its kind in Scotland, Sir John had an illustrious 40-year career and was the first chairman of the Scottish Natural Heritage for the Highlands & Islands, presient of the Scottish Wildlife Trust and chairman of the government’s Environmental Training Organisation.

He is being brought to the university by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS) as part if its Inspiring People talks programme.

Ahead of the talk, Sir John said: “I am incredibly pleased to be contributing to the wonderful work of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and look forward to inspiring audiences with the wonders of Scotland’s natural environments.”

Tickets – which are free to RSGS members, under 18s and students, are £10 for non-members and £8 for Tiso Outdoor Experience Cardholders – are available on the door or can be booked via eventbrite.co.uk until 12noon the day before.
