THOUSANDS of pounds in funding has been secured for a sports project looking to reach out to Stirling youngsters.
The £8,000 was awarded to Stirling’s Sports Leadership Group, mentored by Active Stirling, and came from the Year of Young People 2018 National Lottery Fund.
Mark Findlay, employability and volunteering manager at Active Stirling, explained: “This is a really exciting time for us - we have a group of highly motivated young people who want to reach out to other young people through physical activity and sport to help change lives.”
More information on the project is expected in the coming months as it progresses.
Charis McLean, of the Sports Leadership Group, added: “We can't wait to get started on the project and would like to say a huge thanks to all the National Lottery players who have made this possible and provided us with the funds to bring our project and ideas to life for the young people of Stirling.”
