STIRLING Festival of Cycling and Walking is back for 2018, with a fun filled day of cycling and walking activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The event, organised by Stirling Active Travel Hub, will take place at Stirling High School on Sunday, August 19 from 10am-4pm.

Leading the line-up are Scotland’s Cycle Stunt Team The Clan with their spectacular showcase of skilful tricks from mid-air flips to negotiating big drops.

There will also be lots of opportunities for families to test out their own cycling skills from taking part in the Pedal for Parkinson’s charity bike ride which kicks off at 9am, to different bike skills courses suitable for kids of all ages.

Chris James, Stirling Active Travel Hub, said: “This year’s festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

"We’re offering a variety of tasters to inspire everyone, whatever their age and ability, to be more active.

"We’ll have everything from balance bike activities for the little tots, to e-bikes for those who want to boost their pedal power.

"Recyke-a-Bike’s Dr Bike will also be on hand to carry out free bike safety checks.

“The fun isn’t limited to those on two wheels. There’ll also be a chance to try out Nordic Walking with a trained instructor as well as a free bouncy castle, face painting and transport themed storytelling sessions to keep the kids entertained.”
