A LOCAL opticians has achieved an internationally recognised business accreditation for its commitment to staff.

Specsavers in Stirling has been awarded the Investors in People (IIP) Platinum Accreditation, the highest mark of top performance in business and people management in the UK.

Only given to 1 per cent of organisations, the Platinum award recognises those that are outstanding places to work, have a clear commitment to sustainable growth and put staff at the centre of their business.

The Platinum award therefore remains challenging and aspirational for many organisations.

Achieving Platinum puts Specsavers in Stirling in the top 1 per cent of all IIP Accredited clients with only 74 companies across the UK being awarded, 25 of which are in Scotland.

The store joins an exclusive group of UK employers eligible to use and display the sought after Investors in People logo and plaque, and enjoy its benefits.

Susanne Akil, Store Director at Specsavers in Stirling, said: "As one of only 25 organisations in Scotland to have achieved this, it is with great pride that the store has been re-accredited with such a prestigious award, and we are delighted to have reached the Platinum standard – a level that not many businesses can boast.

"It is highly gratifying to have the work that we do every day recognised by such a reputable body, and we will continue to maintain this standard as the business continues to thrive.

"We know the importance of nurturing great staff on an everyday basis to maintain high business standards, and the accreditation reaffirms our dedication to this."

Peter Russian, Chief Executive of Remarkable, the home of Investors in People in Scotland, said: "The highest of the Investors in People accolades, Platinum recognises organisations who are truly committed to their people, continuous improvement and customer service.

"We’ve supported Specsavers Stirling since 2009 and we’re delighted to see their ongoing dedication recognised with their Platinum award. Many congratulations."

The store, which has 42 staff, was previously awarded Gold accreditation in 2015.

Since then, the store has been committed to the recruitment and development of staff through the business.
