STIRLING GIN have signed an exclusive five figure deal to supply their unique wild nettle infused gin to The Great Run Company.

The agreement will see the Stirling based company supply their craft gin at eight of The Great Run Company’s events on either side of the border, including the blue ribbon ‘Great North Run’ which was established in 1981 and is now the biggest half-marathon race in the world.

The deal, as sole craft gin supplier to The Great Run Company, comes hot on the heels of another five-figure agreement that saw Stirling Gin become sole supplier of their distinctive premium gin to ScotRail on the network’s Scottish trolley services.

With the company also set to move into their ‘Old Smiddy’ distillery in the heart of historic Stirling’s Castlehill area in early summer, co-owner Cameron McCann has no doubt that the new deal with The Great Run Company is another giant stride forward for his company, as it makes its first foray across the border.

Cameron said: “Stirling Gin are delighted to be coming on board with The Great Run Company as their craft gin supplier.

"The deal will cover supply of all The Great Run company’s major events and we are particularly excited about the prospect of supplying Stirling Gin to spectators, officials, and runners at the Great North Run.

“When you consider that the Great North Run was founded by the living legend that is Brendan Foster, that some of UK athletics’ household names like Sir Mo Farah is a four-time winner, Paula Ratcliffe a previous winner of the ladies event and over 1million runners, including Kevin Keegan when he was the England football team captain, have participated in this amazing run, then we are just delighted to be associated with such an illustrious top-end event.”

Great Run Company director, Jennifer Isaac, revealed that Stirling Gin’s elevation to the company’s official craft gin supplier came after a successful run-out at the Stirling Marathon in spring 2017.

Jennifer said: “We were keen to trial Stirling Gin as our after-event gin for last year’s Stirling Marathon and the feedback was universally positive and I am delighted to say that positivity was repeated recently at the Great Edinburgh Winter Run.

“Given Stirling Gin’s popularity with all and sundry we had no hesitation in reaching an agreement with the company to supply our events in 2018 on either side of the border spanning Aberdeen, Stirling and, of course The Great North Run.”
