A DRIVER caught behind the wheel without insurance has been banned from the roads for a year.

Last Wednesday, Edward Hunter admitted driving along the A907 between Gartarry and Marywood roundabouts without the proper paperwork in place on October 29 last year.

Fiscal depute Laura Knox told Alloa's Justice of the Peace Court that the 42-year-old accused, of Westerton Terrace in Carronshore, was snared by police during a routine check.

As well as the driving ban, Justice Michael Bromby fined Hunter £400.
