ALASDAIR Tollemache and Chloe Campbell are spearheading the local Green Party election campaign.

Alasdair, who is standing in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, is a well-known and respected figure with experience in public life.

He was behind recyke-a-bike and has considerable knowledge of community development.

Chloe, who is standing in Stirling North, will be a graduate of the University of Stirling and brings a fresh perspective to the council.

With empathy towards social equality, she is standing as a councillor to "create a fairer Stirling".

Mr Tollemache said: "I'm excited to be standing so we can ensure that the next council has a strong Green Voice to speak up for people and build on what Mark Ruskell has achieved in his time as our Green councillor."

Ms Campbell said: "I believe it is very important that our council reflects our community and I’m looking forward to bringing a different perspective to the council and putting people at the heart of decision-making."

Mark Ruskell, MSP and councillor for Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, said: "I'm delighted to see our strongest ever Green team in place for May's elections.

"For the first time every voter in the Stirling Council area will be able to vote Green, and with a fair voting system in place every single Green vote will count.

"I will not be continuing as a councillor after May, but I'm looking forward to working with a strong, principled group of Green councillors in my role as a Green MSP.

"A single Green voice can help deliver a fairer and greener Stirling, but a group of Green councillors would achieve much more."
