Police in Forth Valley are appealing for witnesses after a 53-year-old man was seriously injured in a road traffic collision near Loch Tay.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm on Sunday (23 August) on the A85 at Lix Toll near to the Lix Toll garage.

A red Honda Civic and the green-coloured Thruxton motorbike were involved in the collision resulting in the motorcyclist being transferred by air ambulance to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a serious condition.

The female driver of the car and her male passenger escaped injury.

The A85 between Crianlarich and Lochearnhead was closed for around five hours while collision investigations were carried out and the scene cleared.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw the vehicles shortly beforehand.

The motorbike had been travelling on the eastbound carriageway while the Honda was heading in the opposite direction.

Sergeant David Ross of the Road Police Unit based in Stirling said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and as part of this effort we are appealing to members of the public to please get in touch with any relevant information.

“I would ask anyone who was travelling on the A85 and who saw these vehicles to please get in touch with police on the non emergency number 101 or, alternatively the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
