SEVERAL people were injured today (Friday) when an empty double-decker school bus ran into the back of a double-decker service bus in a Scottish city centre.
Fire engines, ambulances and police scrambled to the collision from a wide area.
The accident took place on Melville Terrace, Stirling, around half past twelve in the afternoon.
Firemen removed two passengers from the service bus through a side window emergency exit, and several passengers were taken to hospital by ambulance.
A heavy recovery vehicle from Alloa was also called to the scene and police temporarily closed off the road while fire fighters dealt with spilled diesel.
The incident involved two double-decker vehicles.
A witness said: "I got there soon afterwards, and it was a scene of chaos."
Passengers from the service bus were standing round wrapped in white blankets, provided by the ambulance crews.
Another witness, from an architects' business near the scene, said: "There was a very a loud bang."
