Police in Forth Valley Division are appealing for witnesses following an indecent assault in Stirling.

The incident happened around 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 December) at the St Ninian’s Toll. A 19-year-old woman was walking between the Toll and Mayfield Court when a man approached and subjected her to the assault. Officers are now conducting local enquiries in the area to trace the suspect and anyone who can assist with investigation is asked to come forward.

The male is described as white, 6ft tall with a skinny build and stubble and aged between 25 and 40. He was wearing a woollen hat, jeans, jacket and zipped top and was carrying a white bag.

Detective Inspector Grant Sangster said: “The young woman has been left extremely distressed by this assault and we are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Toll area on Wednesday evening and remembers seeing anything suspicious. “In addition, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect or who has any further information relevant to this investigation is also asked to contact police immediately.” Chief Inspector Paul Rollo added; This is an unusual event for this area and we would like to reassure the public that we are doing all we can to apprehend this individual.

"Extra patrols are being carried out in the area and we would encourage anyone to speak to officers if they have any concerns.”
