FIREFIGHTERS remain on scene after flames broke out at a timber processing works in Cowie, Stirling.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews were mobilised shortly before noon today (Tuesday, July 9) when a worker at Norbord wood processing site raised the alarm.
The fire is thought to have started in a wood manufacturing drying device used in the manufacture of composite timber boards.
The premises have not been evacuated at this time and there are no reports of any injuries.
Appliances from Stirling, Falkirk and Larbert sent to the incident and quickly reached the scene, with additional resources called-in to help bring the fire under control. Ground monitors are in use to surround and extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters' efforts to tackle the blaze have been hampered by very hot and dry weather conditions.
The incident is on-going.
