WE may not be quite there yet weather-wise but regardless, summer has arrived.
And with all that free time, The Tolbooth has a host of varied arts workshops and activities lined up, designed to capture and encourage the imagination of young creative minds.
Professional tutors from across all art-forms have a whole range of fun and interactive sessions ready to teach you new skills and keep you entertained.
There will be everything from photography, model making and animation, through to art classes, starting your own band, and having a go at the controls of a professional recording studio.
The popular Monster Trad and Jazz Big Band in a Day workshops also make their return.
Music development officer at the Tolbooth, Kenny Bates, said: “Summer holidays are some of the most memorable times growing up, always full of fun, freedom and adventure with friends.
“Well that’s exactly what we’ve aimed to put on offer at the Tolbooth this summer – we’ve got a wide range of brilliant creative activities on offer to help you discover a new hobby, build your skills in art and music, and make some new friends in the process.” The Tolbooth Summer Workshops run from Tuesday 7 July through to Thursday 13 August, taking place in a range of spaces throughout the venue during school holiday mornings and afternoons.
Classes cover a range of ages, from six-11 years, right up to 13 plus.
Spaces are limited so early booking is highly recommended.
