East India Youth and Happy Meals have been added to this year’s Electric Fields line-up.

Nominated for the 2014 Mercury Music Prize for debut album Total Strife Forever, East India Youth will bring his phenomenal live set-up to EF.

Originally from Dumfries and Galloway, now based out of Glasgow and Orkney, Happy Meals have been busy turning heads over the past few months. Their mesmeric debut album Apéro earned them a spot on this year’s SAY Award shortlist.

Both are playing The Skinny magazine’s stage, joining the likes of United Fruit, Vessels and Blanck Mass and kick-starting the magazines 10th birthday celebrations.

Festival director Alex Roberts said: “Bringing in the fantastic East India Youth and Happy Meals pretty much wraps up our line-up, bar a couple of late announcements, and we couldn’t be happier to be bringing two of the most exciting names in UK music to play. The line-up really is so exciting, August can’t come round quick enough.” Other acts to play across the weekend include King Creosote, The Phantom Band, PAWS, Hector Bizerk, Miaoux Miaoux, Fat Goth, Golden Teacher and Randolph’s Leap.

Electric Fields: Saturday 29 August, Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway.
