On Sunday (14 June), from 2-5pm, the gardens at Lanrick will open for the first time thanks to Alistair and Penny Dickson and Maurie Jessett.

The estate includes a lovely woodland walk along the River Teith - a rural oasis where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Scotland.

There are magnificent ponticums and many interesting sights and features within the grounds, including ornamental shrubs, climbing roses, many varieties of espalier fruit trees and some of the original walled garden of Lanrick Castle.

Enjoy homemade teas in an Indian tent on the site of the original castle. There will be a plant stall and dogs are welcome on a lead. Disabled access.

Admission £4, children free. Beneficiaries are The Sandpiper Trust and Scotland’s Garden charities.

Directions - Turn off the A84 at Doune onto the B8032 and after about a mile the entrance is on the right.
